A taste of what you get

Here is the opening of a CineScribe synopsis for Inception directed by Christopher Nolan.

🎬

Inception

Directed by Christopher Nolan · 2010

Feature Film Sci-Fi Thriller IMDb 8.8

Dom Cobb is a thief with an unusual specialty: he steals ideas from dreams. Using experimental military tech, he enters the subconscious of his marks while they sleep, guides them through a dreamscape he has engineered, and walks out with whatever secret was locked in their minds. It has made him rich, it has made him a fugitive, and it has cost him the ability to go home to his children.

When a Japanese industrialist named Saito offers Cobb a chance to clear his record, the job is not extraction but inception: planting an idea so deep inside a target that the target believes it was his own. Cobb assembles a team -- a forger who can impersonate anyone in a dream, a young architect who can build impossible worlds, a chemist who can keep a shared dream stable for hours -- and they descend, layer by layer, into the subconscious of Robert Fischer, the heir to a dying empire.

But Cobb carries a passenger he has not told anyone about. His dead wife Mal keeps appearing inside every dream he enters, sabotaging his work, whispering that none of this is real. As the team sinks through dream within dream within dream, time stretching with every level, the question stops being whether they can pull off the impossible and becomes whether Cobb can tell the difference between the mind he is inside and the one he thinks he owns...

Questions, answered

Everything you might want to know before you start.

Is CineScribe a movie recommendation engine?
No. CineScribe is a personal archive tool. It writes rich synopses for the films and shows you have actually watched, so you can remember, revisit, and share what you loved without relying on a third party to remember for you.
Which streaming services can I import from?
Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Apple TV+, Hulu, Max (HBO), and Paramount+, plus a manual mode for anything else. Netflix offers the cleanest CSV export; other platforms may require requesting your data from their privacy tools.
Do synopses contain spoilers?
CineScribe is spoiler-aware. The opening paragraphs cover setup and premise without revealing endings. Full plot discussion is available on request for synopses you generate in your personal archive.
Can I download my synopses?
Yes. All tiers include text downloads for individual synopses. Pro and Premium tiers add ZIP bulk download, which packages your entire archive with posters, metadata, and formatted text, ready to keep offline or import elsewhere.
How accurate is the metadata?
CineScribe pulls from IMDb, TMDB, and OMDb, the same sources professional sites use. Posters, cast, director, year, runtime, genre, and ratings are current. If a title has a disambiguation issue, you can pick the right edition manually during import.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Manage your subscription in one click from your account settings. No hidden terms, no cancellation fees. Your archive and downloads stay yours.
Is my viewing history private?
Yes. Your imports and synopses are stored privately against your account and are never shared or sold. We store the titles you generated synopses for, never the raw viewing files you upload. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
